Behind the design “Sina and the Eel”

Sina often visited a village spring, where a gentle eel would always swim beside her.

Over time, the two formed a quiet and special bond. The eel, who was really a spirit chief, told Sina he was nearing the end of his life. He asked her to bury his head — promising a gift would grow. From that place, the first coconut tree grew. Look closely — the face on every coconut is said to be the eel, still watching over Sina.

This design reminds us that love, even when it ends, can leave something beautiful behind. Kindness and respect can grow into gifts that last for generations. The coconut is more than just food — it’s a symbol of love, sacrifice, and connection to our roots. A reminder to our children that the smallest acts of care can grow into something life-giving.
